[WORKSHOP] Writing for Forum Theatre by Stanley Seah
The workshop will focus on the differing styles and approaches to writing for stage then look at writing for a forum production, focusing on the contrasting elements involved.
Stanley will then share his experiences of writing for two of Buds Theatre’s forum productions: Don't Kancheong, Kiasu & Kiasi (in collaboration with 100 Voices) & It’s a Father’s Day (in collaboration with Dignity Kitchen) and the various challenges faced in each of the writing processes.
About Stanley Seah
STANLEY SEAH Is graduating from East 15 Acting School’s Masters in Directing this September and will be returning to Singapore - focusing on creating original plays and productions for the local stage.
His play, Surveillance, premiered at the Etcetera Theatre in London. He also has been actively writing for Buds Theatre’s forum theatre productions.
For the last two years, Stanley has assistant-directed for The Only Jew (Matthew Lloyd – London’s Queens Theatre), Grind (Goh Boon Teck – Artistic Director of Toy Factory Productions), Holiday in my Head (Dean Lundquist – Artistic Director of Asylum Theatre) and Hansel and Gretel (Andy Pang – Associate Artist of Paper Monkey). He also recently directed The Wright Stuff's Chicken Curry for Toy Factory.
